Keen iOS 9.1 Jailbreak

Working on Keen’s Jailbreak for iOS 9.1, Here is a very good news for the users who do not like to stick with the stock apps and love to use jailbroken devices. A report has it that a jailbreak for iOS 9.1 is being worked on. This news was all over the web only few days after the official release of iOS 9.1 on 21st October.

This team known as K33n,a popular name in the jailbreak community, have taken the initiative to develop a jailbreak for iOS 9.1 as mentioned in an interview with Forbes.A member of the K33n team named Liang Chen, said that they are working hard on a jailbreak for iOS9.1 and if their hard work pays off it should be ready by November of this year. Chen also mentioned about the K33n team’s interest in working hand to hand with the popular Pangu team.

K33n Team:Who are they ?

K33n team is quite popular among the jailbreak community and they have a pretty impressive record in penetrating iPhones. In the Mobile Pwn2Own competition held on 2013,this team bagged $27,500 and in the consecutive year they won $40,000 for hacking Safari browser. The K33n team is well known for resolving security bugs and is one of the most respected team of hackers in the world. However, this team haven’t yet released any jailbreak for iPhone and the iOS 9.1 jailbreak is their first attempt.

It is not at all surprising to see why these teams are working hard on jailbreaking the iOS 9.1. This is because,a team who releases the first jailbreak gains quite a lot of fame and a huge sum of money. Every year, thousands of dollars are spent on such hackers and researchers for their jailbreaks as once the hacks are installed in the iPhones, the users are able to break free from their stock apps and are able to install third party apps. Rumours has it that these untethered jailbreaks are worth millions. And it is a fact that these untethered jailbreaks are convenient to use as they can be easily downloaded and used without connecting to a PC via USB.

Liang Chen said that it the technical challenge that drives him more rather than the monetary part. This is because quite a lot of skills and technical knowledge is required for rooting an iPhone and not everyone can do that. Chen also mentioned that these vulnerabilities will used for future competitions. They might also hand over their ventures to Apple. However, it’s a well known fact that Apple doesn’t pay a penny for it. Only the credits are given to the researchers when they are ready with the patches. The funny thing is that Apple itself is curious to know more about the faults and vulnerabilities in their OS and yet it is not ready to spend a single peny for it.

Keen Team to enter in the Jailbreak scenario:

Keen team is all set to enter in the jailbreak community with their ventures and shoulder-to-shoulder with the PAngu team.Apple claims that iOS 9.1 is impenetrable and there are no jailbreaks present as of now. However, the Pangu team came up with a jailbreak for iOS 9 with the Pangu 9 tool and they plan to implement the same on iOS 9.1 as well. During the interview with Forbes, Chen mentioned that they are planning to release the jailbreak for iOS 9.1 within few days. All we can do now is wait for the K33n team to come up with exciting new ventures.
