How to fix iOS 8 No Service Problem iPhone 6

Apple had released its newest series of operating system with the introduction of iOS 8 on September 17th. Along with the then-upcoming Apple devices like iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8 was expected to become a big hit among its users. Sadly this was not the case, because the update had a lot of bugs and compatibility issues that it only managed to create a chaos in the smart devices market.

One of the major issues of iOS 8 was with the network coverage. Most of the time users got the message ‘No Service’ shown on the top left side of the screen where the network coverage is usually indicated. It was to solve this issue that Apple created the next update iOS 8.0.1 but immediately revoked it as it had a number of other issues which would only tarnish Apple’s image more in the market. Some of the new issues included the faulty working of Touch ID and the indication of a new message called ‘No connection’ in the place where a cellular signal is supposed to be shown. This defective iOS had done the damage to almost 40000 units.

Nevertheless, Apple did not take a back seat and instead produced a newer update called iOS 8.0.2 which appeared to have resolved all the problems found on iOS 8.0.1. Sadly again it turned out to be another blunder from the Cupertino Company as the latest iOS caused even more trouble for users with regards to the Touch ID and network connectivity. Most users were not even able to use their smartphone as a basic phone to at least make calls.

If you have already upgraded to iOS 8.0.2 and face all these issues, there is a way to resolve this issue.

Upgrade your iOS 8 supported iPhone devices to the latest version, iOS 8.1

Apple recently released iOS 8.1 and it comes with a lot of improvements over iOS 8.0.2. Fixing most of the issues faced by iPhone 6 users, Here are the steps to perform the Upgrade:

  • The first step is to make sure that you have the updated version of iTunes
  • After that is done, open the iTunes application on your system.
  • Press on the Help button.
  • Then select the Check for Update button.
  • A pop-up window will be shown in which it will ask the user whether it is an updated version
  • A Backups window opens, from which you should click on the Back up Now button so that all your data from your iPhone 6 or 6 Plus is backed up in a safe place
  • Now download iOS 8.1 IPSW
  • Plug-in your iPhone device, 6 or 6 Plus to the laptop or computer system. Open the iTunes application.
  • Now click on the Device Summary page in order to access it
  • Hold down the Option (in case of Mac) or SHIFT (in case of a Windows system) and simultaneously select the Check for Update option in iTunes
  • Now search for the IPSW that you had previously installed and open it
  • A pop-up screen will be in front of you from which you need to select the Update button
  • Select the NEXT button, after which you should select AGREE button
  • Finally your iTunes application will begin to downgrade the device to iOS 8
  • This process may take some minutes to complete, according to your internet connection’s speed
  • Be patient and wait for the Slide to Unlock slider pops up on the screen. You need to perform the set of instructions that follow after all these steps

The reason we are not asking you to install iOS 8.1 over OTA is that, OTA installs will always create problems in jailbreaking. If you have plans to jailbreak iOS 8 later, go with this option.
