Downgrade iOS 9.1 to iOS 9.0.2

How to downgrade iOS 9.1 to iOS 9.0.2, Apple released iOS 9.1 yesterday with new features and improvements but the excitement didn’t last really long when we realized that iOS 9.1 patched two vulnerability that Pangu team used in Pangu 9 to jailbreak iOS 9. SO if you have upgraded to iOS 9.1 you can’t jailbreak any more. We emailed our subscribers immediately after the release of iOS 9.1 requesting not to upgrade, if you are not subscribed and upgraded to iOS 9.1 accidently please follow the tutorial below to downgrade iOS 9.1 to iOS 9.0.2 now. Apple is still signing iOS 9.0.2 as of when writing this article but soon they will stop signing, so if you want to jailbreak downgrade as soon as possible.

How to prepare device before downgrading iOS 9.1 to iOS 9.0.2

  • Download the iOS 9.0.2 IPSW file for your device, make sure you download the correct IPSW file else it wont work.
  • Upgrade iTunes to the latest version, older versions of iTunes may cause problem in downgrading.
  • Make a proper backup of your data, use iTunes and backup your device.

Steps to downgrade iOS 9.1 to iOS 9.0.2

  • Turn off Touch ID and Passcode by going to Settings – Touch ID & Passcode.
  • Disable Find my iPhone, this is required to restore iOS Devices. You can do that by going to Settings – iCloud – Find My iPhone.
  • Connect your iOS device to your PC or Mac.
  • Now fire up iTunes and Go to the summery tab under settings.
  • Now press and hold Shift for windows or Option for Mac and click on restore iPhone.
  • Select the iOS 9.0.2 iPSW file you downloaded for your device and click ok.
  • iTunes will do the rest, just sit back and relax.
  • Once done, Restore your data from the most recent backup and you are done.
