Cellular Data not Working on iOS 9 – Fix

Cellular Data Problem in iOS 9, Updating to iOS 9 the most awaited for all the new features had been upheld with all the problems that the users have been facing similar to those faced in by a new firmware at the starting stages! How to Reset  the Network Settings on iOS 9

  • Navigate to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
  • Reset Network Settings: Tapping on this option will ask you for the Passcode of your iOS device and you can confirm on the action.
  • Please exit back to the home Screen and Turn off your device by holding on the the Power button of the same.
  • Turn the iOS device back ON in 10-15 seconds by pressing on to the Power Button.

Apply Update from Cellular Carrier

Updates Provided by Mobile Carriers Specially for the iPhones ensuring higher compatibility for the cellular network they offer. To see if such an update is being provided by your carrier or not, Please try out these steps:

  • Tap on Settings > General > About.
  • Now if there is a Specific Pop Up, that asks to confirm and install an update from your cellular carrier, please confirm to the same.

Update Device to the Latest Version of iOS 9

Apple has been working on  and continuously improving the Firmware iOS 9 and  as a result, the iOS 9.0.1 which has already come out has to be as sure wizard to solve all the issues faces from the iOS 9  update.There is also a beta verson of iOS 9.1 which can also be used as an update if you are all cool with the idea of having a beta version running on your device.

Full Factory Reset and Restoring of your iOS device to a fresh start

  • Launch iTunes on your computer by connecting your iOS device to it.
  • Check the iTunes Device Summary.
  • Backup all your device data with iTunes every possible time to your Device to safeguard data.

Once that is completed, get back to your iOS device and perform a Factory Reset:

Please do this only after backing up your data using iTunes, else all your data will be lost from your iOS device.

  • Tap on Settings – General – Reset – Reset All Content & Settings.
  • All your data will be erased, so create a backup as mentioned in the steps in the beginning of the 5th Solution.
  • After completing the Reset, install iOS 9 with a fresh start which might ensure the wipe out of the bugs causing the Cellular Data issue.

Downgrade iOS 9 to iOS 8.4.1

If none of the other steps work, this will definitely help you out but that means downgrading the iOS back to iOS 8.4.1 from iOS 9.

This is because of the stability of the version iOS8.4.1 over the iOS 9 version and wait till the new version of the firmware iOS 9 is more stable and is more stable to the current version. Releasing of the iOS 9.1 is going to be a wait, but a well worth one to have the updated and stable version of the current iOS 9.
